The degree of automation in sawmill facilities is gradually increasing each year and further development of new machines is depending on a close integration between automation systems and engineering. That is why we at CGV for numerous years have invested considerable resources to establish the competence and systems that are suited to control sorting facilities.
We were delivering PLC-control to our machines as early as 1981, later on with an increased demand for performance CGV upgraded to PC based control systems. These systems have considerably more capacity compared to traditional PLC systems and has enabled us to stay at the forefront of the technological development.
During the last 20 years it has become more common with closed loop operation drives in the industry along with more affordable prices on these systems. Granting us the opportunity to construct machines that are both faster and more effective than the traditional models.
C. Gunnarssons Verkstads AB have as a goal to deliver lumber handling systems to sawmills all across Europe. Our machines have over the years found themselves outside of Europe, in for instance, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.
CGV's technology can also be found in North America through our associates.
